Our two-year-old program incorporates structure into your child’s day, so we can ease them into the next phase of childcare and education.
Our curriculum for the two year olds features thematic units that focus on integrated learning. Our curriculum suggests activities and literature to use for each theme along with discovery lessons. For example, a thematic unit on barnyard animals might include the book "Busy Barnyard" by: Steven Holt, a "counting cows" coloring page, and singing a classic like "Old MacDonald".
Your two year olds day ends with a closing group activity like reading or singing. In short, the day is packed with fun, educational, and innovative activities that stimulate learning while making you giggle and smile.
The teachers/caregivers facilitate innovative activities such as music and art. At times there will be two or three two year old teachers in your child’s classroom, which allows for cooperative learning groups and the ability to assist in more individualized learning.
Teachers/caregivers assist two year olds in activities to develop both fine and gross motor skills. Two year olds are allowed to go outside for more exploration and playtime when weather permiting, allowing your two year old to discover the diverse world around them.
Our teachers/caregivers read and sing to your child, hold them and love them while maintaining the routine you have established for feeding, sleeping, and playing.
Your child’s teachers/caregivers will send home a "dailygram" at the end of your child’s day in their new classroom. The "dailygram" allows teachers/caregivers to share with you some of your child’s experiences and progress through out the day.
